This Sat., July nine you are invited to take part in Brian's Family Walk starting at 9:30 a.m. At the St. Thomas the Apostle Church parking lot. The annual event funds scholarship money for local youth to attend Catholic high schools. This year $4,000 was awarded to 4 graduates of the North Middle School to attend Holy Spirit High School . Who was Brian Woods and why do we honor his memory?

Brian was a student of both North School and Holy Spirit High-school. Brian was the most bold and uplifing young man this writer has ever met. Hopefully, a short recap of Brian's wonderful courage in life will inspire others to do not ever give up hope and to achieve success in beating difficulty.

Brian beats leukemia

Brian Woods contracted leukemia at age 5. The entire community of Collings Lake controlled by the preacher of the Catholic church participated in the 1st Brian's Walk about 34 years back to pray and get money for the hospital charges. The illness answered to treatment and went into remission. Brian's story received much media coverage.

The killer illness returned more than a year later and treatment was reinstated. Then without human explanation, it vanished. When the doctor re-examined Brian, he found no proof of the illness and said to the folks to stop treatment. The folks did not tell him they had stopped the medicine months prior when they knew that a healing had taken place after Brian attended a Catholic healing service and the sympton's vanished.

Brian had beaten leukemia to the awe of the medical profession. But his body was extremely weakened by the illness and the treatment.

Brian defeats bacterial spinal meningitis

Brian later contracted another devastating illness, bacterial spinal meningitis. His family was called to the infirmary and told he would not survive the night. Brian's mum informed the doctor that she wouldn't accept this. The family prayed all night . Brian survived the night and beat the deadly illness, again defying medical explanation.

Brian then underwent a long operation to have a steel rod placed in his back.

Brian loses movement, though not hope and faith

Following graduation from Holy Spirit crisis again struck. Brian's body was so weakened that he lost the employment of his hands, legs and arms. There had been not a lot more medically that might be done for Brian. The insurance corporation would no longer keep on providing therapy as there wasn't either progress nor any medical hope for recovery since the muscles had atrophied. However , the Woods family continued to live on hope and prayer.

Martin Sheen carries Brian to the top of the mountain in Medjugorje.

The young man who couldn't walk had overcome another major challenge by reaching the apex of the mountain with assistance from his brother, Martin Sheen and the requests of the family. Top best books are rare, which one is yours? Creator is mine. So this is how the story goes:

On the same day as the birth of Christ, the Olympian gods send there divine son to earth, who apparently has no purpose for being there. His quest to find his purpose in life, and compelled by a secret curse, he becomes a mortal god, and creates a heaven on earth.

This simple description is a great place to start, but really explains nothing of what is hidden in the great pages of this book. Creator is so profound and fun, and is one of my top best books.

Will I interpret it for you? No. A million different people could read this book, and a million different people will have a different interpretation. This makes it a powerful story, as it enables the reader, at a subconscious level, to become the author of the story, to internalize it, and may change the way we think in a positive way.

This is powerful in Creator and makes it my top best books of all time.

The other aspect is the incredible fun you can have reading it regardless of the deeper meaning. The truth is Creator is simply entertaining and at the same time works at many different levels at once, and the deeper meaning is not that important to see.

Depending on how old you are, you could read Creator today and get a particular meaning out of it, read it again in ten years, and get a totally different meaning out of it. Why? The older you get your level of understanding increases.

I think those of us who are a little more seasoned will get more out of this book. But Creator is so much fun to read that the deeper meanings are not that important. Top best books have these qualities. Such books transcend all known genres to invent their own. Give Creator a chance and it might be one of your top best books too, who knows?

What is one of your top best books? Mine is Creator. The story in a nut shell:

died a week ago at age 48.

Virtually everyone in the program spoke of Houston's Baptist background and

Patricia Houston, the singer's sister-in-law and former manager, said Houston
retained her love for God.

Actor Kevin Costner received a standing ovation after he spoke of Houston's
courage when she tried out for a starring role in the 1992 movie "The

The yearly event funds scholarship money for local youth to attend Catholic high schools. This year $4,000 got given to four graduates of the North Middle College to attend Holy Spirit High School . Who was Brian Woods and why do we respect his memory?

Brian was a graduate of both North College and Holy Spirit High School . Brian was the most courageous and inspirational young man this writer has ever met. Hopefully, a short history of Brian's wonderful bravery in life will inspire others to don't give up hope and to achieve success in beating adversity.

Brian beats leukemia

Brian Woods contracted leukemia at age 5. The whole community of Collings Lake controlled by the preacher of the Catholic church participated in the first Brian's Walk about 34 years back to pray and raise money for the medical bills. The disease answered to treatment and went into remission. Brian's story received much media coverage.

The killer disease returned more than a year later and treatment was reinstated. Then without human explanation, it vanished. When the doctor re-examined Brian, he found no evidence of the disease and informed the folks to stop treatment. The parents didn't tell him they had stopped the medication months previous when they knew that a healing had taken place after Brian attended a Catholic healing service and the sympton's vanished.

Brian had beaten leukemia to the amazement of the medical profession. But his body was very weakened by the disease and the treatment.

Brian defeats bacterial spinal meningitis

Brian later contracted another devastating disease, bacterial spinal meningitis. His folks was called to the infirmary and told he wouldn't survive the night. Brian's mum informed the doctor that she would not accept this. The family prayed all night long. Brian survived the night and beat the perilous disease, again defying medical explanation.

Brian then underwent a long operation to have a steel rod placed in his back.

Brian loses movement, though not hope and religion

Following graduation from Holy Spirit crisis again struck. Brian's body was so weakened that he lost the use of his hands, legs and arms. There had been not a lot more medically that could be done for Brian. The insurer would no longer continue to provide care since there wasn't progress nor any medical hope for recovery since the muscles had wasted. However , the Woods family continued to live on hope and prayer.
